(DotNetNuke) DNN vs WordPress

WordPress was originally designed as a blog development tool, and has evolved into a CMS (Content Management System). Over the past 10 years, hundreds of volunteers in the Open Source community have collaborated in writing the core foundation of WordPress, as well as creating thousands of plugins, widgets and themes – some free, some available as third-party apps through the WordPress Marketplace. It’s estimated that over 25 million sites have been built in WordPress since it was initially released in 2003, with over 50 million current users across the globe.

When people compare DNN to WordPress they generally discover DotNetNuke is more powerful and easier to use. WordPress hasn't changed much in many years, while DNN makes huge improvements with every version they release. WordPress is based on PHP scripting while DNN is based on .NET.  Both platforms have thousands of plug-ins and modules available, however DNN is easier to develop for integrations and customizations since .NET is a first-tier developer's platform.

WordPress may be a little easier to install and setup.  DNN’s administration is integrated into a tool bar on the top of your site so you're editing and previewing live, versus having to use multiple windows for WordPress's dashboard.
